Here's Trevor's sleeve note, which explains his musical thinking behind this set of solos:
'You can hear by some of the phrasing in these LOCKDOWN solos of mine that a lot of the influences are from Jazz and Be Bop in particular.
They never completely left me. In fact they stayed with me in terms of the importance of the contribution they made to the style I ended up with, though I am always trying to develop and move forward. It was always essential for me personally though, to develop from where I had been before musically speaking, rather than to make a complete break! I never rejected my Jazz roots. It was those, I think, that gave most of us the foundations for improvising within our own music.'

As ever, with Trevor’s playing, the humanity and soul shines through this music and the techniques built and absorbed over many decades enable stories to be told with a single horn.
